Daily Vibranium: Make a choice

It's time to address the abuse of the popular mantra, " everything happens for a reason" . Most of the time this idea typically helps people to cope in difficult situations. For most, this way of thinking makes it easier to deal with issues. Although I genuinely believe that life is supposed to be lived, instead of attempting to intellectualize everything, I also believe in preventative decision making. A lot of things happen based off the decisions you make. The analogy the “domino effect “ can be used when referring to the effects and cycle of repeated poor decisions. One event can initiate a succession of similar events. The more positive choices you make, will improve your chances of positive outcomes.
" Play with fire and you will get burned". This age-old concept of action--reaction remains very relevant. You were aware the fire was hot, it looked hot, and the stove was turned on. Yet you made a conscious decision to disregard all the obvious signs of the fire being hot. After learning the hard way, you now try to slap on this ridiculous abstraction that " everything happens for a reason". Okay.. Okay, sometimes the " hard way" is the ONLY way that some people will learn a valuable lesson. However, every single life occurrence does not have to come with such a high price.
I'm sure we are all familiar with the definition of insanity, which is doing something over and over and expecting different results. At some point we have to adopt the concept of accountability and preventive decision making. Set yourself up in a way that will produce better, more positive results. Be prepared for challenges and difficulties to arise. This doesn't mean that if something doesn't go as planned, that there isn't a silver lining, underlying purpose or " bright side". Life does work in mysterious ways. On the other hand, stop putting yourself through repeated, unnecessary stress. I'm going to eventually start thinking you actually enjoy jumping through hoops.
Lets all agree to stop slapping band-aids on serious wounds. Stop allowing yourself to struggle just so you have a story to tell years from now, or a testimony in church.
We can't control life, but we can choose it!
